Inisiatif Pendapatan Rakyat (IPR) /Basmi Miskin Tegar (BMT) Program for the Orang Asli Community is a project managed by the Jeli Land and District Office, with funding from the Ministry of Economy. This project aims to help improve the economy and income of household heads (KIR) within the Orang Asli community.
Participant selection was done through the e-damak system with the assistance and support of JAKOA Jeli. There are two (2) projects under the supervision of UMK Holdings:
1. Kelulut Honey Farming Project
– Began operations in November 2022 with a workforce of five (5) participants from the Orang Asli community of Sg. Rual.
– Introduced 100 logs of *Itama* species bee colonies.
– Features a honey processing center named “Galeria Kelulut Orang Kita,” where farm-produced honey is processed and displayed.
– Successfully generated income of RM17,000.00 from kelulut honey sales.
2. Leafy Vegetables and Chili Farming Project
– The project was taken over in December 2024.
– Ten (10) participants from the Orang Asli community of Sungai Rual are involved.
– Selected crops include *cili kulai* (chili), *sawi* (mustard greens), and *bayam hijau* (green spinach).
– It is estimated that each participant will receive an income distribution of RM2,500.00 per season.
