UMK’s Empower ECER Programme
A dual-impact initiative under the Human Capital Development Programme launched by the ECERDC Development Council (ECERDC) in 2010. This inclusive programme targets low-income and underprivileged youth and adults through skills training, as well as low-performing students from underprivileged families for academic support.
- Locations: Implemented across Jeli, Bachok, Ketereh, Gua Musang, Pasir Puteh, and Tanah Merah.
- Skills & Entrepreneurship: Training programmes targeting low-income youth and adults.
- Academic Training: Support for students sitting for major public examinations.

Technical Skills
Industry-Recognised Technical Training
Our Train & Place programmes equip participants with job-ready skills aligned with industry standards, featuring guaranteed placement pathways and DOSH/IRATA recognition.
Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH)
Appointed by the Ministry of Economy through Yayasan Peneraju and ECER as a Learning/Training Institution (LTI). This course offers competency-based training followed by employment placement.

Rope Access Course
A specialized safety and technical course sponsored by Yayasan Hasanah (RM227,000 grant). Participants are also exposed to an Ultrasonic Testing Course.

Community Empowerment
Targeted initiatives to support B40 communities and aspiring entrepreneurs through practical skills and funding support.
Bakery and Pastry Course (B40 Women)
Aims to develop a community of entrepreneurs, particularly women from the B40 group, towards SMEs in the bakery and pastry manufacturing sector. The course focuses on low-cost participation and minimal equipment requirements.
- Sponsored by Yayasan CIMB: Allocation of RM8,500.00 per participant.
- Comprehensive Support: Includes business starter kits, 3-month monitoring, and reporting.
- Successful Outcome:20 participants from Tumpat district highlighted.
People’s Income Initiative Programme (IPR)
Managed under the Jeli District and Land Office with UMK Holdings supervision, aiming to improve economic conditions for the Orang Asli community Heads of Households (KIR).
Kelulut Honey Farming
- 5 Participants (Sungai Rual)
- 100 log colonies (Itama species)
- Income generated: RM17,000.00
- Facility: Galeria Kelulut Orang Kita
Leafy Vegetable & Chili Cultivation
Participants: 10 participants from the Orang Asli community of Sungai Rual (Project taken over in Dec 2024).
